Two houses, made from scratch (cardboard + glue + tempera paint + cement).
The prototype was the rural area Romanian houses ( I love these  )

Unfortunately, I've taken no pictures during the building process, as this was happening several months ago.

Things are not yet finished. Left to do :

1. glue the houses. At this moment, if you look carefully, you can see holes under the house body

2. I hate the windows !!! I have tried several times (paper, wood) but I'm not happy at all about the way they look now . They are not at all straight as it should be . Any advice on this aspect, highly appreciated.

If i may, I'll be a bit critical. I do realize the fact that these houses are about 4 centimetres tall and that it's very difficult to make them, but they don't look as real as the rest of the objects. Moreover, the bigger house seems quite disproportionate - the windows and the roof are too big. I'd try some toothpicks or matches for the windows and also for the door. And maybe they should be raised a little, reals houses are not placed directly on the land.

You could also try some adhesive foil that imitates wood for the doors. Maybe you could use some kind of adhesive foil for the roof, too.

Diane, thanks for the advice   (you know,  criticism moves us forward). Things are not yet quite finished, I'll have to work some more on the placement on the land (but I was too keen to show these ). Regarding the dimensions...well...I think I'll simply have to measure a real house (I didn't had any plans...so it might be quite possible things to be disproportionate - if you look at them for as long as I've did it until now, you certainly get used to them...a fresh look might be the right one  ). I actually quite like the roofs, especially for the bigger one, on this aspect I have to disagree with you .

Yes indeed, that roof looks very good. It's very realistic. What I meant is that the house should be taller for a roof that big.
