nice work ! What did you covered the diorama surface with ? How about the roads ?

Congratulations on posting it for the world. Now you need the industry that uses its cars so much.
Viorel01:26, 11 December 2006 (MST)
Thanks :) . The industry is on the way. Actually, I think it's on the looong way :D. I've been raised in the country as a kid, and I'm still very much in love with the country style. The next steps will be continuing on the small country farm I've start building (this might raise in a industry over time, who knows :) ).

You might laugh, but the surface is covered with real dust :D. I've spent hours on the roads with a small recipient and a brush to collect dust :D. For the roads, I've polished the rough dust, until smooth.

You know what? I'd really like to see a mountain or something like that in the diorama.I think it would be interesting.

I forgot to login.:) So..about the mountains..you could have a countryside diorama with mountains, right? And if you are skillful enough to make a tree like that, you can certainly do a mountain. ;)
Viorel15:04, 18 December 2006 (MST)
well...certainly I think I can add some mountains, Diane :). I'm not yet sure, I'm still thinking on that. The fact is that I've started everything slow, one small block at a time. The block I'm currently working on is around 40 cm X 60 cm (that's around 64 X 95 "real" meters ). I might as well add some rocks on one of the next blocks I'll build, but this block it is rather small for a mountain :). I think it will only have a country farm yard.

i will be honest with you. when i saw just how many things you know about trains and in fact all types of hand-made models, i started to ask myself: what do i write to this man? i know nothing about the way such wondeful things are manufactured. i only know to stare fascinated at them, like i did when i was a child. my train collection contains 7 models. fleischmann, rivarossi, hornby. my first train was made by hornby trains, it was flyind scotsman, with liner4-6-2 locomotives . the train from london to scotland. i had played with it since i was 7. last year i had the chance to see it in real life. but i already knew everything about it. it had been a part of my childhood, my adolescence and my youth. i am sorry i cannot provide a professinal comment. for me, models trains are only a way to bring back the child in me. and that's why i like them. that's why i really respect what you are doing.

Nicely said. This is what it's all about atually. The poetry and the pleasure of all this hard work. Respect for people who cultivate their hobbies!
